Village Experience & Tonle Sap Tour 1 Day

Place You Visit: Siem Reap
Welcomed by our tour guide at your hotel’s lobby at 8.00am then head out of the hassle city to a charming countryside. The journey passes beautiful rice paddies before we arrive at a rural village, we’ll then have some fun on an oxcart ride that absolutely interacts local people. Next, get introduced to a host family and we begin soaking into “a day in your life” that you experience unique activities such as rice harvest or planting vegetables or palm roof snitching depending on the seasons of the year. Meet a lot of the encounters, witness daily life, culture, traditions and superstitions which still remain practiced in Cambodia. Enjoy picnic lunch followed by fresh coconut juice at a host family and try a few palm fruits (Note: palm fruit is seasonal).
Afternoon, we say goodbye to the host family then we’re driving to Mechrey floating village, embark a private sheltered boat to explore Tonle Sap Lake. The Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia and is also an ecological hot spot that was designated as a UNESCO biosphere in 1997. The boat excursion takes us passing floating school, mangroves, floating houses which animated by some fishing activities. Our tour guide will explain you about Tonle Sap ecosystem and witness how life works in the floating community, and we stop to see floating crocodile farm, souvenirs shop if it interests you before we return to the mainland then catch our waiting car back to hotel.

When is the best time to visit?
The best time to go on the tour is from November to January when the weather is a bit cool and everything looks green, fresh and there are plenty of rural activities awaiting for you to practice. Mechrey floating village is also beautiful due to its less touristy and the water level of Tonle Sap Lake.
Dressing code & What to bring along?
We strongly advise you to dress appropriately to cover shoulders & knees, this is to show your respect to the locals and other active sites. Should bring along hat, sun cream, sunglasses, incest repellent and extra water to dehydrate due to humidity.
Payment Method & Cancellation
Upfront payment is not required once you confirmed the trip. The payment will be settled in US dollar on the touring day before the tour starts. However, paying by credit card is available through our PayWay online system if you wish to pay in advance but 3.7% is surcharged as bank’s policy.
Any cancellation is made less than 48 – 24 hours, 50% of total amount is charged and less than 24 hours is 100% charged, and the cancellation fee will be collected from you at your hotel.
